What about privacy?

SeatSheet is built with privacy in mind. We only store what's necessary – students' first names and a nickname for the class.

Sensitive information like who should or shouldn’t sit together, locked seats, and other preferences are only used temporarily during chart creation and are never stored on the server.

All data is stored in Europe (in accordance with GDPR) using a secure and reliable cloud service. We never share your data with anyone, and everything you do is visible only to you (and any colleagues you've chosen to share with). We don’t use the data for anything other than helping you create seating charts.

How does sharing with colleagues work?

Is it free?

Can I recreate my classroom?

We use a smart grid system that easily lets you draw your classroom exactly as it is in reality, so you get the right number of rows, desks, and walkways. You can also rotate the direction of the desks, making it easy to adapt to group tables or other types of seating arrangements.

Yes, you can download the chart as a PDF or copy it as an image to paste into Teams, Google Classroom, OneNote, or print it. You can also present it fullscreen directly in your browser.

No, you can try the tool with a demo class without signing up. It gives you a clear idea of how it works. To create your own classes and save charts, you'll need to register.

Who created the app?

SeatSheet was built by me, Lars, a norwegian middle school teacher frustrated by how much time I spent making seating charts. I created the app as a side project because I needed a tool that was fast, flexible, easy to use, and suited to real classrooms. Now it's used by thousands of teachers, which I think is amazing!

The app is still a teacher-led project, and when you use or subscribe to SeatSheet Pro, you're supporting the continued development of the tool.
